History of the Area
The Manhattan, NY area has a rich and storied history. One of the most significant historical events was the completion of Rockefeller Center in 1939. It consists of 19 commercial buildings and was designated as a landmark in 1985. The famous Radio City Music Hall, located within Rockefeller Center, was declared a NYC landmark in 1978.
